Tasmania’s food and wine experiences spring from its pristine water and pure air and the skill of its growers and makers. As well as its stunning wines, it produces famous cheeses, premium beef, honey, and some of Australia’s best boutique beers. Australia’s southern island is widely recognised as the home of premium sparkling wine production in Australia. Its mild summers and long autumn days are similar to the climates of famous European wine regions. The vineyard soils are formed from ancient sandstones and mudstones and also from more recent river sediments and igneous rocks of volcanic origin. Tasmania has seven wine growing areas – in the north the Tamar Valley and the North East areas in the north, the East Coast, the North West and the Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley and Huon/Channel areas in the south.

Day 1 On arrival pick up your car hire at Launceston airport and make your way to Stillwater and enjoy the day at leisure. Your dinner this evening will be a memorable delight of your selections at Stillwater.
Day 2 Take a leisurely drive to Josef Chromy winery where you will learn the art of fly casting and gain an introduction to fly fishing with RiverFly Tasmania. Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Winery, find yourself learning the basics of casting on our lake with Tasmania’s leading fly-fishing guides. Enjoy a complementary tasting at our Cellar Door and then retire to the Restaurant for a two-course lunch of fine Tasmanian produce matched with wines. Evening at leisure.
Day 3 Check out of Stillwater and take a leisurely two-half hour drive from Launceston to Hobart or take a little longer and visit small historical towns along the way. On arrival to Hobart check into Henry Jones Art Hotel. Take a little drive around Hobart and explore the area your evening is at leisure.
Day 4 After breakfast make your way to the pier to catch the ferry to Mona travelling in the ferry’s fancy Posh Pit. Arrive at Mona and explore the museum, then enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Moorilla winery and vineyard including an exclusive tasting of Moorilla’s best wines. Enjoy a two-course lunch in Mona’s restaurant paired with wine from Moorilla’s Muse and Cloth Label Series. After lunch continue exploring Mona before taking a ferry in the Posh Pit back to Hobart. Evening at leisure.
Day 5 After a leisurely breakfast, check out of Henry Jones Art Hotel and take some time to explore Hobart further then make your way to the airport to drop of the car and fly home.

Fly fishing is an outdoor pursuit and conducted in most weather conditions. Introduction to fly Fishing is land based however please dress appropriately for the conditions. Sunglasses are advised. Waders and equipment will be provided.
Josef Chromy Wines is named after its founder octogenarian Josef Chromy. Renowned in the Tasmanian food and wine industry, he has a remarkable life story of coming to Australian from Europe in the 1950s with nothing. Josef Chromy Wines is the culmination of Joe’s experience in the Tamar Valley, which shines through in the quality of the wines, food and hospitality offered at his cellar door and restaurant. The restaurant matches the best local regional produce with award-winning wines for unique à la carte lunches, sit down dinners, BBQs in the gardens and harvest brunches during vintage.

Museum of Old and New Art, is Australia’s largest privately-owned gallery and museum. Showcasing the diverse collection of its owner, Tasmanian gambler and maths nerd David Walsh, Mona exhibits everything from ancient Egyptian funerary objects and modernist masterpieces to a word waterfall and a machine that mimics the human digestive system. The Mona site—perched on the banks of the River Derwent, not far from Hobart—is also home to the Moorilla winery and vineyard, as well as luxury accommodation, bars, a restaurant and more
Ferry – Mosh Pit
Mona’s super-flash highspeed ferry will have you travelling in style in the ferry’s Posh Pit, which includes complimentary Moorilla wine, Moo Brew beer, canapés and a private deck complete with onboard bars and sheep to sit on.
Moorilla’s Wine Ambassador—a bone fide expert in all things wine—will take you on a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the Moorilla winery and vineyard. You’ll taste the wine as it’s being made and delve into the backstory of Moorilla, David Walsh and Claudio Alcorso, who planted Moorilla’s first vines. The tour includes an exclusive tasting of the best wines from Moorilla’s Cloth Label and Muse Series—decanted into fancy glassware, ooh la la—in the moody and glamourous surrounds of the subterranean tasting room.
