With an abundance of experience from Jessie and the Radiance team, and hiking trails at our doorstep, our yoga retreats in France are an inspiring blend of yoga, adventure and Pyrenees mountain village life.
Each day this full and inspiring yoga retreat in France journey begins with a dedicated morning yoga practice. After yoga enjoy a hearty mountain breakfast before heading out on the days hiking adventure, exploring a mix of scenic mountain, lake and forest trails. In the afternoon return to the lodge to rest and refresh before a deeply restorative afternoon yoga practice. Your day ends with a delicious home cooked dinner before a guided relaxation for a good night’s sleep.
Jessie has been offering the yoga retreats in France since 2008 and is passionate about sharing the transformative power of yoga practice and creating retreat journeys that allow people to deepen their yoga practice while being inspired by the beautiful natural surrounds. Jessie’s yoga and restoration classes cater to all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners, with lots of guidance, yoga adjustments and care given throughout the classes and whole retreat journey.

Your retreat hosts are Jessie Chapman along with Lee Purdie. Jessie has been offering Radiance Retreats in Australia, Asia, New Zealand and Europe for over 20 years. She has been practicing and teaching yoga for many years and is the author of 4 Yoga Books including Yoga Postures for your Body, Mind & Soul (HarperCollins) and the Radiance Yoga Series, Jessie loves sharing the transformational yoga retreat journey, creating space for people to deepen in yoga and to be inspired in beautiful natural surrounds.
Daily Rituals
7am: Morning yoga practice
9am: Hearty breakfast
10:30am: Depart for the day’s hiking adventure
1pm: Picnic lunch on the trail
4:30pm: Return home, relax & refresh
6pm–7:30pm: Deep rest & restoration yoga
7:30pm: Three-course vegetarian dinner
8:30pm: Yoga nidra or meditation preparing for a deep, restorative sleep

Hiking Days
Each day on this yoga retreat in France, you will embark on a scenic hiking adventure directly from your accommodation. The hiking trails average between 5-12 km per day, depending on the elevation with plenty of opportunities to rest and take in the stunning views. Parts of all the hikes are enjoyed in silence to absorb the sights and sounds all around. Explore a mix of gentle walks, moderate trails and more challenging mountain hikes. On the yoga retreats in France guests who prefer an easier pace can join part of a walk and return home on the well marked trails to rest. There’s the option to skip a day’s hike to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounds.
Yoga, Restoration & Stillness
Each day begins and ends with quality yoga practice, where everyone is well supported by yoga teacher Jessie Chapman and the yoga retreat in France team. Jessie has been teaching yoga since 1997, and her classes are thoughtfully designed for all levels — from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Each guest is guided and supported according to their individual needs, energy levels, and physical abilities.
The morning sessions combine gentle flowing sequences with longer-held postures to cultivate flexibility, strength, balance, and alignment. In the afternoons, restorative yoga invites deep relaxation, calming the nervous system, restoring energy, and encouraging relaxed full breathing. Throughout the retreat, Jessie provides an abundance of care and guidance, ensuring you feel relaxed and supported every step of the way.
France Yoga Retreat Accommodation
For this Radiance Retreat your 6 night stay is in a traditional French Maison that’s been transformed into a welcoming, family-run B&B. The comfortable single and twin share guest rooms have ensuite bathrooms and scenic mountain views offering a quiet space to rest after the days yoga and hiking. The property features a relaxing lounge area, a sunroom, a large outdoor mountain-view terrace, a kitchenette stocked with teas, a coffee machine, fresh coffee and a bar fridge with facilities for storing and preparing our hiking picnic lunches. A laundry service is available upon request.
France Retreat Meals
Breakfasts and dinners are hearty vegetarian home-cooked meals. Each morning after yoga it is a shared wholesome breakfast with an abundant selection to fuel our day’s hiking adventures. Dinners are a delicious three-course vegetarian meal. Lunches are enjoyed as picnics on along hiking trails, which simple fresh produce is purchased from the village grocery store to carry in your daypacks. All day tea, coffee and water are available in our accommodation kitchenette where any extra food or snacks bought for the picnic lunches, etc can be stored. Vegan, gluten free, allergies and other special dietary requests can be catered for upon advanced request.
Arrival, Departure & Extra Nights
Arrival Day I Yoga Retreats France : The group meeting place on the first day of the retreat is 11.30am at Pau Train Station in the Southwest of France. From Pau travel together on a scenic train journey to the foot of the Pyrenees where you’ll be transferred to the retreat accommodation. Retreat guests often opt to stay the night before our retreat in Pau. Pau is a beautiful historic city in the Southwest of France known as ‘the gateway to the Atlantique Pyrenees’.
Departure Day I Yoga Retreats France : On the last day depart the retreat early via train arriving back at the Pau Railway Station at 8.30am. Some guests stay a night in Pau after the retreat; others make their way onwards to their next destination via train, bus or plane.
Getting to Pau: You can arrive in Pau via SNCF train from Paris, Bordeaux, Biarritz and other locations in France and Europe. Pau is serviced by a domestic and international airport with flights arriving from many locations. We can assist with arranging.
Extra Nights: If staying in Pau before or after the retreat there’s a wide range of hotels and apartments, we can assist with arranging.
